The English as a Second Language (ESL) program emphasizes communication and prepares students to enter credit courses or find employment.
Listening, speaking and vocabulary-building skills are introduced at the lowest levels. Writing and reading skills necessary to the college environment are taught at the higher levels.

Information literacy is a set of abilities requiring individuals to "recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information."
